“Ukrainian nationalism” does not align with my conception of nationalism, it’s not even Ukrainian. Russia was occupied by Communism, as much as any SSR, Warsaw Pact country or the West is, now. Geopolitics can’t be allowed to obscure Politics. I do not “support” Russia but I do want to leverage it’s conflict with the GAE to our advantage, if possible. Defeat by Russia in Ukraine will damage the GAE more than our dissident efforts & while Russia is punching the GAE in the face, I would like to be stabbing it in the back. Russian “imperialism” seems to consist of not wanting to be dismembered by the GAE, which resonates with me & is certainly less dangerous to me than the politicians who plant my country with Africans. In my circles, Frodi’s position on Russia, though not a deal-breaker, is increasingly dismissed as a piece of personal baggage but as the suicidal nature of the conflict, for Ukraine, becomes clear, it has raised questions about his judgement & even trustworthiness. Which is a pity.
